Disney Shares Nostalgic Visuals of the Iconic Tree of Life

On the eve of the 15 Anniversary of Disney Animal Kingdom Theme Park, which is on April 22, WDW is excited to share one of its best kept secrets in the history of fantasy creations. The short but exclusive video clip offers a great opportunity for fans to know about the evolution and construction of the iconic Tree of Life. The visuals of this legendary tree taking its magnificent shape as it grow and become the most coveted attraction at the heart of the Animal Kingdom Park is simply awesome.

The iconic Tree of Life (designed as a giant Tree of Life homage to Mother Nature) is not just a huge tree with stunning sights. This 145 feet tall and 50 feet wide attraction with a base that expands beyond 150 feet is an engineering marvel with exceptional creativity. Thanks to the extremely creative and technically inspired team of designers and sculptors that Disney is so proud to have. The Tree is conceptualized as a symbol of beauty and diversity. For Disney it symbolizes the grandeur of animal life in this Planet. The Tree is intended to represent mankind’s emotional connection with all the animals and their habitats.

There is something magical in every branch, leave and root including the trunk of the tree for visitors to look for. Sculptures of over 300 amazing creatures big and small were carved into the roots and branches. The 8000 skillfully engineered branches of this magnificent tree are covered with over 100000 leaves of about 1 foot in length.

Standing tall and mighty the Tree of Life enjoys the most commanding sights in the park since inception. The base of the tree houses a surprising theatrical attraction where the multimedia presentation “It’s Tough to be a Bug! Show” is performed. The famous 3D film features favorite characters from Disney Pixar film (A Bug’s Life) where the ant Flik and his grasshopper friend Hopper presents a unique Animal Kingdom experience.
